Daniel is a Colorado-born multi-media artist living in Honolulu. They received their BFA from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and work across ceramics, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Daniel’s work draws from their experiences growing up gay and Mormon, using humor, sexuality, and striking imagery to question ideas of identity, belonging, and the body. Their ongoing body of work, NO STRAIGHTS ALLOWED, is an intentionally exclusionary conceptual framework that centers queer experience while challenging conventional ideas of how identity is understood and expressed.
